Binding & Loosing (Matt 16:19; 18:18)

Dear fellow Bible studiers,

If you have opportunity you can look at Matt 16:19 and Matt 18:15-20.  I have been learning some new things about "binding" and "loosing" and am eager to dive into that with you tonight.

A few points to ponder:

• What is bound or loosed?
• What does the context of Matt 16:19; 18:18 tell you about these two concepts?
• How does this pertain to church discipline?
• How does this pertain to prayer?
• How does this pertain to what we teach?
• Check some different versions for 16:19 and 18:18.  What is the importance of the verb tenses in these verses?
